Hello, I have never written a letter to compliment on a product before but I just want to thank you so much for the beautiful Edenvale range.
I had to give up drinking nearly two years ago because I loved it all a little “too” much, the most heartbreaking thing for me really was missing the wonderful ritual of wine and also it compliments food like nothing else and I also love food “a lot”.
I had tried the Californian ones and bought them out of desperation but was always disappointed.
My mother bought me a bottle of your champagne and red wine to get me through Christmas, it was the best Christmas present I received. I went up to Coles the first day it was open and stocked up. I talk to all my friends about it and a couple of people in the same boat as me are just so grateful to have found this affordable delicious alternative.
Not drinking is hard, but now with this, the stress is off greatly, I take a bottle to parties and bbq’s, I enjoy it with friends.
I really just cant rave enough. Please keep up with experimenting and making it even better and better and never stop making it.
A million thanks,
I am your unofficial ambassador on the Gold Coast, insisting my favourite restaurants and clubs stock your products which have enhanced my life no end! Those which don’t, now allow me to “bring my own”. I have converted many people to your brand.
I really do think it is time to lobby Parliament to insist that wherever alcoholic beverages are sold, they must also offer patrons de-alcoholised wines such as yours, and beers too. It’s a superior option to tackling the effects of alcohol indulgence and the crime, violence and accidents resulting.
Can you do a bit more to expand distribution in restaurants, bottle shops and clubs especially and then promote their availability in these places? There needs to be more education and recognition of the product and some licensing “clout” from the powers that be to insist on making them available wherever alcohol is sold or consumed.
I just wanted to email and thank you for your Edenvale range. After 17 years of alcoholism, I quit drinking four and a half years ago. While I don’t miss that out-of-control feeling in my life, I have missed the social aspects of alcohol and the relaxation of unwinding at the end of a hard day with a glass of red. The stigma attached to not drinking is sometimes still very difficult for me to deal with, despite the fact that I have a wonderful set of very supportive friends who shield me as much as possible from this.
On a whim this new year’s eve, I stopped by the supermarket on the way home from work looking for a sparkling grape juice or something I could use to see in the new year. A poor substitute, I thought, but I wanted something celebratory and was feeling a little out of the party-set loop. Instead I found your alcohol-removed Shiraz. I wasn’t really expecting much…something grapey and boring.
Oh, my God.
I have to admit that when I took my first sip, it tasted so much like the real deal I actually felt sick and guilty for drinking it. I had to put it away and see in the new year with a coffee. Discussing it with my friend the next day, she said to me: “Sweetheart, you are such an idiot. Who do you think they make that stuff for? They make it for people like you.”
So this afternoon on my day off, I have poured myself another glass and taken it outside into the sun with my book. I can scarcely believe it’s possible for me to be sitting on the grass with a book and a glass of delicious Shiraz. Something so simple to so many people, but for me, it’s something that I have missed with all my heart for four long years. To be granted that simple little gift and to be given back that semblance of normality. I could take a bottle of this stuff to a picnic. Or a BBQ. I don’t have to be the only person in the room with a bottle of water in her hand instead of a wine glass.
Thank you so much for this range. You just made my sober life a little easier.
If you help stop just ONE person from picking up an alcoholic drink with this label, you have saved a life. That must feel very special. Thanks for giving me one more reason not to. I’ve just put a bottle of your sparkling cuvee in the fridge to celebrate.
I am one of these rare people in New Zealand who chooses not to drink alcohol and was absolutely delighted to find your wine on some of our Supermarket shelves and online wine shops.
I have been buying it for some months, recommending it highly to many of my friends who also love it. I try and introduce as many people as possible to it by taking a bottle or two to BBQ’s, dinners and other occasions. I am amazed at the reactions from people – they show complete surprise to find out such a product is available as most people have never heard of it. Yet, everyone who tries it (especially your Sparkling Cuvee which is also my personal favourite), loves it completely and I know they have all stocked up now.
My frustration here in NZ is that there needs to be some advertising to make Kiwi’s aware of this fantastic non alcoholic option. I get exasperated when people think I’m talking about sparkling grape juice!
We had our Work Christmas Function last night and I got them to buy 12 bottles as an alternative to alcohol. It was greeted with suspicion but to humour me they bought it. Well, I can tell you it was a huge success. Even the catering staff were impressed at how popular it proved and have taken down the name of your wine.
Is there anything your NZ distributor can do to create more awareness? If not, I will volunteer to spend a few Saturday mornings at the supermarkets who sell it, with a little stand and a few bottles to get customers to sample some. I know this sounds a bit silly but I am convinced that this would be a huge success. That’s how much I believe in it!
To sum it up, I love your product and have been busy spreading the word but would love to see it advertised on a larger scale (well let’s face it, seeing how oblivious Kiwi’s are to it – there can’t have been much advertising yet?).
I would love to help.
I want to add my voice to the testimonials for your wines. Recently I decided to cut my alcohol consumption for health reasons – interactions with medications, awareness of links between cancer and alcohol use, weight issues, etc.
In our family, the many celebrations we have during the year are based on the feast – great food, good wines and great company. The feast is the cornerstone of the event and is much enjoyed across all our generations. Sometimes I think people in our family only get engaged, married, have babies, anniversaries and holidays to create reasons to get together again and share good food, drinks, song and laughter.
These family events are the centrepiece of my life and I cherish the anticipation and memories of each one. However since limiting my alcohol use I feel I’m not as involved, and not getting the full experience. The overly sweet alternatives of soft carbonated drinks, apple and grape juice substitutes are not sympathetic to the rich savoury elements of our meat and seafood-based meals, so I ‘ve resigned myself to drinking plain water with meals. However even in a beautiful crystal glass, toasting with plain water feels less than celebratory.
Browsing my supermarket shelves recently I noticed the Edenvale wines and picked up the Shiraz, thinking ‘oh yes, another bottle of sickly sweet grapejuice.’ Your label description and low price prompted me to ‘give it a go’ and that night, was blown away by the quality of taste, colour and ‘mouthfeel’ of your Shiraz. I sipped it hesitantly expecting the raw taste of dark grape juice overlaid with sugary sweetness on my palate. Instead I got the soft, smooth flavour of a well-made wine. It truly looked, tasted and felt like a good Australian Shiraz. I noticed after the first sip that my palate felt fresh and clear, and this continued through to the end of the glass…ummm, end of the second glass.
I’ve been hesitant to try the Chardonnay and Sparkling Cuvee, Not a fan of ‘cardy’ anyway, and thought the Cuvee might be just sparkling apple juice like other brands. However other testimonials on your site have convinced me I should give them a try, so I’m stocking up this weekend and taking them along to an informal family get-together. I’ll invite everyone to test-taste with me, then brag that I’m still within my kilojoule limits and can drive home at any time I like. They’ll be an absolute must for designated drivers at our Christmas get-together.
In the meantime, I’m loving that I can drink a good red wine every day, knowing that it truly is good for me. It will come with me to all the byo social events, and I’ll be asking my favourite cafes and restaurants to keep it in stock.
Sorry for rhe long rant, discard if you want to.. but I just had to tell you how much your product is appreciated.
After our conversation last Thursday I’m so happy I finally made contact with your company to thank you for the endless enjoyment your product has brought me since Christmas 2006.
After treatment in rehab for a drinking problem, my challenge was trying to find a suitable drink for social occasions. Sick of nonalcoholic drinks rather the alcohol removed, which is the main advantage of your product, in that it has the full taste of a fermented wine. My Sister came across Edenvale Chardonnay at her local Coles store. It was like a revelation for me, finally a drink you can take to restaurants and parties, that is so enjoyable and pleasant to drink. Both the Chardonnay and Champagne are brilliant. I have enjoyed drinking your range for the last four years and talk about it to everyone.
I feel I would make a great spokesperson for your products, as I’m so enthusiastic about them. For sometime I have been wishing it was readily available in clubs, bars and hotels and I would love to help in anyway possible to get this amazing product into these outlets all over Australia.
I just had to thank you for producing a product that I can drink! I’ve always liked the taste of both red and white wines yet could not stand the afterburn and alcoholic finish. With the exception of some very fine Verdehlo wines I can’t take more than a few sips of 99% of wines.
However wandering through Coles the other day and contemplating some Maison which I’ve had with friends (enjoying it but thinking to myself… it doesn’t taste like wine, just grape juice) before I saw the Edenvale range on the shelf right next to it.
I thought “What the hell” try something new… so I picked up the Chardonnay… I took it home, chilled it in the fridge and then when I opened the bottle… WOW it smells like real wine… Poured it into my glass and took that 1st tentative sip… OH MY GOD it tastes like wine! BUT with NONE of that nasty alcoholic burn in the back of my throat!
Naturally the next day I went out and grabbed another bottle of Chardonnay, followed by the Shiraz, Rose and Cuvee. I’m now onto my Shiraz and I’m very impressed with it as well! I’m certain that the Rose and the Cuvee will be just as impressive when I get around to those.
So, once again I just want to thank you for making a remarkable and affordable alternative for the non drinkers out there. Now if only you will find it in your hearts to produce a non alcoholic Verdehlo I’ll be in heaven!
New and soon to be loyal consumer,
I have been looking for an alternative to alcohol for a couple of years and was told about EDENVALE by my brother who decided to give up drinking alcohol. Ever since I have been singing its praises and telling others about it.
Everywhere that alcohol is sold I think EDENVALE should be available too as an alternative.
Thank you again for being a fore runner in this industry which is in huge need of this product.
I have been buying your product faithfully because I love the taste and the health benefits. I am training hard and so this is perfect for me.
I have recommended your wine to many people who have also grown to love it and have become regular drinkers of this amazing product, and I tell you this not because I am wanting anything out of it, only to see you grow from strength to strength, because you deserve to.
I wish you increasing success, health and abundance.
I am nearing the end of my pregnancy and just wanted to drop you a line to say thanks a million for your fantastic range of (virtually) non-alcohol wines. With just 2 weeks to go until my due date I can honestly say I don’t know how I would have gotten through my pregnancy without them! I love my wine and have worked in the wine industry and trained as a sommellier so the prospect of going without was pretty depressing at first! I have allowed myself the odd glass on special occasions but on those weeknights when i have wanted to join my husband or guests with a glass of wine your range has been great! I have even turned up to several occasions with your sparkling cuvee only to have other people drink it in preference (it was also a big hit at my baby shower with other mums/drivers).
I have not found any other non-alcoholic wines like yours that actually taste like a medium-dry table wine rather than grape juice. The great thing is I can continue to drink your wines throughout breastfeeding (and beyond). I honestly think that i will continue to be a loyal consumer as it has made me realise that sometimes it is not the alcohol I crave but the ritual of pouring some Shiraz into a big Riedel glass and enjoying over dinner. Of course I still can’t wait to be able to enjoy wine again but your range has made all the difference, so THANK YOU!
Finally…… A company that makes non-alcoholic wine that tastes like the real thing!!
I would like to thank you personally for your innovative range of non-alcoholic wines. Up until yesterday when I discovered your wines in the local Coles Supermarket, I had been enduring the sickly sweet taste of the non-alcoholic wines produced by your competitors. Prior to finding out that I was pregnant, I enjoyed alcohol several times during the week and was only saying the other day that I wished that some company could produce a safe wine that tasted like wine…… Let me just say that you are that company.
I took a bottle of the Cuvee to a dinner party last night and it was an instant hit with all the regular wine drinkers.
Congratulations and well done…..Hope you get to stock it in Safeway as well!
To whom it may concern
Congratulations on producing a fantastic bubbly which I can REALLY enjoy with my friends and still drive home safely! Non- alcoholic wine is a new thing for me because I’ve always drunk the other stuff. But now I can still enjoy a bbq and a few drinks with friends with out getting ribbed about only drinking soft drinks! I can now also drink less alcohol and still enjoy a wine which will be better for my heart health and will also be better for me as we try to start a family. Good on you guys for producing a top drop, I will be sure to spread the word to my friends and collegues. As an employee in the wine industry I am super impressed and can’t wait to try the rest of the range now!
I have just brought a bottle of your Shiraz and was very impressed.
Last night I tried your wines, red and white, and found them to be fantastic. I don’t drink alcohol but used to love the taste of red wine. This product is great, it tasted so much like the real thing. I have tried other non alcoholic wines but they can tend to be too sweet. I was wondering, is there anywhere you can buy this product by the doz to show off to my friends. Thanks for the great product. Any chance of a Cab Shiraz on the market soon?
I want to tell how much I love your product, I mean love it.
I am a wine lover and cannot drink anymore due to liver problems (Quote not caused by too much drink) but no more wine for me. Tried this just the other day and wow it tastes so much like the real thing I can’t believe it the white and the champagne tastes like the real thing I am telling everyone. So thanks again for coming up with an alternative it makes me still feel part of the party. I cannot thank you enough.
