Alcohol-Removed Wine Is Just Grape Juice - FALSE

It may surprise you that every bottle of Edenvale begins life as bonafide, alcoholic wine. We wouldn’t have it any other way. One of our great passions is crafting premium and authentic non-alcoholic wine faithful to the varietal’s typical bouquet and flavour.

The fermentation process creates a level of complexity and depth that is authentically vinous and simply beyond all grape juices, no matter how good they are. Critically, our alcohol-removal process strives to retain as much of the complexity and depth as possible.

So, whilst our wines do have approximately the same level of alcohol as fruit juice, there’s nothing simple about them! Wine myths like this don’t have a leg to stand on.

Alcohol-Free Wines Are Not Popular - FALSE

Visit any supermarket or liquor store nationwide, and you will see first-hand how misguided this rumour really is. The shelf presence of alcohol-free wine continues to expand…

We’re proud that Edenvale is one of Australia’s pioneering non-alcoholic winemakers. Even when we launched all those years ago in 2006, Australians were starting to think about wine alternatives. But it turns out that since those early days, the world’s thirst for quality alcohol-removed wines has increased exponentially. From health and lifestyle to religion and culture, people enjoy non-alcoholic wines for many reasons. We now export to countries including New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada, Belgium, Taiwan and China.

It’s therefore perhaps no surprise to hear that the latest data from the world’s leading drinks data and insight provider, IWSR, shows that “no- and low-alcohol consumption across the world’s leading 10 no/low markets grew by +5% in volume in 2023, and the market is now worth over USD 13bn. The no/low-alcohol category is forecast to grow at a volume CAGR of +6% between 2023 and 20271”.

Alcohol-Removed Wines Are Full of Calories - FALSE

If you’re watching your weight, you can relax! In removing alcohol from wine, you also remove calories. This is because alcohol is created from natural grape sugar fermenting, so sugar content and calories have a direct relationship. Removing 13% of alcohol from a wine equates to a 60% reduction in calories. So, wine myths like this carry no substance at all.

Non-Alcoholic Wine Is Expensive - FALSE

When you consider every element that goes into crafting Edenvale wine, the price is incredible value for money.

We source the best fruit from renowned grape-growing areas across Australia and Europe. Our talented winemakers craft traditional wine varietals before using an additional, sophisticated process to remove that alcohol.

Indeed, this step is so complex that we have invested $5 million in a brand-new, state-of-the-art alcohol removal facility. The result is exceptional, premium Australian wine without alcohol.

So you’re paying for all the quality (and then some) without getting the sluggishness or hangovers from the conventional alternative. That sounds like a win-win to us.

You Cannot Store Non-Alcoholic Wine For Long - FALSE

Depending on the varietal, you can store unopened Edenvale non-alcoholic white wines and non-alcoholic red wines for up to three years. Once open, place in the fridge (with the lid back on) and enjoy for up to three to five days.

We hope you’ve enjoyed busting these wine myths with us! Do you have any questions or would you like to find out more from our team? We’d love to hear from you.
