Nina Production Ops Manager

Who better to ask about what to pour into your glass than the person who oversees every step of putting it there?

Meet Nina, Edenvale’s Production and Operations Manager. Since joining the team in 2018 (originally in a finance role), she has moved on to manage the logistics and planning behind every bottle we produce. From bulk wine sourcing to planning the de-alcoholisation schedule, Nina oversees each step with incredible attention to detail and passion for her job. If anyone has an informed opinion on our non-alcoholic wine, it’s Nina. So, let’s get to know her a little better, and the wine she most enjoys.

Looking for Excellence - Life at Edenvale

Nina likens the team at Edenvale to being like one big family. Everyone genuinely wants to support those around them to ensure they collectively get the best out of their day and the business as a whole. “We’re united by the fact we all look for excellence in everything we do,” she says.

“My role is incredibly varied and very hands-on. I might be working with our winemaking team to plan the de-alcoholisation scheduling, managing the bottling schedule or working with marketing to ensure labels, cartons and other packaging elements are all on hand. No two days are ever the same,” says Nina.

Nina’s Favourite Non-Alcoholic Wine: Sauvignon Blanc and Sparkling Cuvee

We don’t remember her mentioning this in the job interview, but when she first came to work at Edenvale, Nina didn’t realise non-alcoholic wine could taste so good.

“It was a real surprise. I thought wine without alcohol surely couldn’t be nuanced and interesting, but I soon learned how wrong I was,” she says.

So, what’s her favourite drop?

“It has to be Edenvale Sauvignon Blanc. It’s light, refreshing and full of flavour. I really enjoy a glass with seafood.”

It’s a fine choice. Edenvale Non-Alcoholic Sauvignon Blanc is fruity, with a bouquet of capsicum and gooseberries. A delightful straw green in colour, it pours like sunshine in a glass. The refreshing, acidic finish makes it ideal with seafood, as Nina mentioned, as well as creamy pastas, sushi platters, cheeses, and anything with a bit of heat. But Nina doesn’t stop at still wine.

“If I’m out with the girls, I turn to Edenvale Sparkling Cuvee. I think it’s a lovely wine to mark special occasions, so I always associate it with really social, memorable events,” says Nina.

Another great call. Crisp, rich with tropical fruit and apple flavours, the Sparkling Cuvee is clean, refreshing, and zesty. In keeping with Nina’s preference for special moments, we recommend serving this with freshly shucked oysters or a platter of exotic fruits.

Avoiding FOMO With Alcohol-Free Moments

Whilst Nina also enjoys drinking wine, she turns to non-alcoholic options so she doesn’t miss out on social occasions. If, for instance, she’s the Designated Driver, enjoying a glass of Edenvale enables her to stay responsible but also feel like she’s in the moment.

As a busy mum, alcohol-free wine means she can stay focused on the kids when she needs to, but still unwind with a drop of something really pleasurable.

“I also just appreciate having something I can turn to when I want a drink, but not the alcohol that comes with it,” she says.
