How We Make Non-Alcoholic Red Wine at Edenvale

So, how does our Edenvale winemaking team create great-tasting, complex wines without alcohol? 

We begin by crafting red alcoholic wines, working to maintain good oxygen uptake whilst minimising contact with the grape skins. 

We then employ our GoLo heat-pump-powered unit, the first of its kind in the world, to remove the alcohol with as little shock to the wine as possible. The GoLo separates wine into three parts—alcohol, de-alcoholised liquid, and essence—and blends the essence back with the de-alcoholised liquid. This creates alcohol-removed base wines that our expert winemakers use to create non-alcoholic red wine.
